Avocado oil: the deep conditioner of the blend.

Some oils hydrate and move on. Avocado oil settles in and conditions. Here's why it's the ingredient dry, rough skin notices most.

What is avocado oil?

Avocado oil is pressed from the soft green flesh of the fruit, not the pit. That detail matters. Most plant oils come from seeds, which have to be crushed hard to give up a small amount of oil. Avocado flesh is nearly a third oil already, so it presses gently and generously, the way olives do.

The result is a rich, golden-green oil that people have used on skin for centuries, from the Aztecs onward. It's food-grade, plant-based, and one of the most naturally conditioning oils you can put in a jar.

What avocado oil does for skin

Every oil in our whipped base has a role. Avocado oil's role is depth:

Pressed from the flesh, not the pit

A common myth says avocado oil comes from the big seed in the middle. It doesn't. The pit holds very little oil. Everything worth pressing lives in the creamy green flesh, the same part you'd spread on toast.

Cold pressing that flesh keeps the oil's natural character intact: its color, its subtle scent, and the fatty acids that make it worth using. It's the same philosophy behind every ingredient we choose. Take what the plant already does well, and leave it alone.

The deep half of a two-oil team

In our whipped base, avocado oil works opposite grapeseed oil, its lighter teammate. Grapeseed is thin and fast, sinking in almost immediately. Avocado is rich and slow, conditioning over hours. Together they cover both ends: quick comfort now, lasting softness later.

You can feel that pairing most clearly in our Relaxation Blend, where the rich-and-light balance meets lavender essential oil for an evening wind-down that feels as calm as it smells. It's the butter we reach for at the end of the day, and avocado oil is a quiet part of why.

How to get the most from avocado oil

  1. Apply after a shower. Damp skin drinks in rich oils best. The moisture goes in, and the oil keeps it there.
  2. Give the rough spots extra. Avocado oil was made for the places skin works hardest. A second small pass on heels and elbows pays off.
  3. Make it an evening habit. Rich, slow-absorbing oils do their best work overnight, while you're not asking your skin to do anything else.
  4. Patch test first. Especially if you have an avocado allergy or reactive skin, test on your inner arm for 24 to 48 hours before regular use.

Questions people ask

Is avocado oil good for dry skin?

Yes. Avocado oil is one of the richer plant oils, high in oleic acid, and it excels at softening and conditioning dry, rough patches. In our whipped butters it's the ingredient doing the deep conditioning work.

Does avocado oil feel greasy on skin?

It's richer than light oils like grapeseed, but far from the heaviest. In our whipped base it's balanced with those lighter oils, so the blend sinks in comfortably and leaves skin soft rather than shiny.

What is oleic acid and why does it matter?

Oleic acid is a fatty acid found in rich plant oils like avocado and olive. It gives an oil its cushiony, conditioning feel, which is exactly what dry, rough skin responds to. Avocado oil carries more of it than most oils in our blend.

Can I use avocado oil if I'm allergic to avocados?

Be careful. Avocado oil is pressed from the fruit, so if you have an avocado allergy, check with your doctor before using products that contain it. As with any new ingredient, patch test on your inner arm for 24 to 48 hours first.
